Meet Kylie – Founder and Director

Hi, I’m Kylie, the Founder and Director of Impactful Solutions. With over 20 years of experience in disability support, developmental education, and behaviour support, I am dedicated to empowering individuals and their families to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

As a registered Developmental Educator and Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner, I bring a unique and comprehensive perspective to my work. My dual qualifications allow me to address behaviours of concern, reduce and eliminate restrictive practices while fostering the skills and confidence needed to enhance independence and relationships.

I am also a proud board member of Developmental Educators Australia Incorporated (DEAI) that served in 2024-2025, where I advocate for best practices and the ongoing advancement of developmental education.

Why Choose Impactful Solutions?

  • NDIS-Registered Provider: We adhere to the highest standards of quality and compliance as set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

  • Unique Expertise: Combining developmental education with behaviour support, we offer a holistic, person-centred approach tailored to your needs.

  • Proven Experience: With a career spanning over two decades, I have worked across a range of roles, including Positive Behaviour Support,

    safeguarding, and disability support.

  • Local and Accessible: We proudly provide services in Ipswich, Somerset, and the Lockyer Valley, with 100% telehealth options available for families further afield.

  • Community Leadership: My leadership role on the DEAI board reflects my commitment to advancing our profession and supporting families with

    excellence.

  • Child Safety Leadership: I lead with a strong commitment to child safety, ensuring that Impactful Solutions meets and exceeds the Child Safe Standards and legislative requirements. My work in developing robust safeguarding policies, clear reporting pathways, and child-friendly practices reflects my dedication to protecting children and supporting families with transparency and care.

Impactful Solutions – Empowering Families, Transforming Lives

Child Safety at Impactful Solutions

Every child has the right to feel safe, respected, and heard.

At Impactful Solutions, children’s safety and wellbeing are at the centre of everything we do. We work with children and young people who may experience developmental delays, disability, trauma, or communication challenges — and we recognise the responsibility we hold in creating an environment where they feel supported, empowered, and protected.

We are committed to being a Child Safe Organisation under Queensland’s Child Safe Organisations Act 2024, and we uphold all 10 Child Safe Standards, the Universal Principle, and the rules of the new Reportable Conduct Scheme.

Our Commitment to Children’s Safety

We believe every child has the right to:

  • feel safe and included

  • be treated with respect

  • have a voice in decisions that affect them

  • speak up if something feels wrong

  • be believed and supported

How We Keep Children Safe

Impactful Solutions has strong systems in place to protect children, including:

Safe and Thorough Recruitment

All staff, subcontractors, and students must have:

  • A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

  • Referee checks

  • Child-safe training

  • A signed Child Safe Code of Conduct

We do not allow any worker to begin supporting children until all checks are complete.

Clear Policies and Safeguards

We maintain:

  • A Child Safe Organisation Policy

  • A Child Protection Policy

  • A Child Safe Code of Conduct

  • Online & Digital Safety rules

  • A child-friendly complaints process

  • A Reportable Conduct Policy and investigation framework

These are reviewed annually to meet legal and best practice requirements.

Listening to Children

Children are supported to express their feelings and concerns in any way that works for them — through words, pictures, AAC, visuals, or gestures.

We use:

  • Simple-language posters

  • Safety cards

  • Visual symbols

  • A “Tell Us If You’re Worried” tool

  • Sensory- and communication-friendly supports

Children are encouraged to tell us if something feels unsafe or uncomfortable, and we take all concerns seriously.

Responding to Concerns

If a child or adult raises a concern, we respond immediately and with care.

We follow all legal reporting obligations to:

  • Queensland Child Safety

  • Queensland Police

  • The QFCC Reportable Conduct Scheme (from July 2026)

  • The NDIS Commission

Children will never be blamed for speaking up, and we will always keep them informed about what happens next in a way they can understand.

Safe Physical and Online Environments

We provide:

  • safe, open therapy spaces

  • risk-assessed community sessions

  • structured, supervised home visits

  • no transport of children by our organisation

  • approved digital platforms with strong privacy rules

  • strict boundaries around technology and communication

No images or digital content of children are taken or stored without written consent.

Working Together With Families

Families are essential partners in child safety. We:

  • share our child-safe policies openly

  • invite feedback and questions

  • involve families in risk assessments and planning

  • provide clear communication about behaviour support and safety strategies

Our Annual Commitment

Every year we complete a full Child Safe Standards self-assessment, update our policies, review our risk register, and ensure all staff maintain current training and screening.

Child safety is not a one-time task — it is an ongoing commitment.
